Don’t believe the negative reviews. I skied 16 resorts on a Mountain Collective pass last year and this is still the king of N. America. The resort management has kept folks safe with this years unusual and unstable snowpack, keeping certain terrain closed but all lifts are open now. As with many resorts that are part of the Epic, Ikon and Mountain Collective multi-resort passes, there are more skiers. That’s because it’s actually more affordable to ski a bunch of days. Plan ahead: but a season to enjoy.

I echo another reviewers comment. We skied at Whistler yesterday for the first time since the 90's. We arrived fairly late (10am) and queued for tickets at 10:30am. The line wasn't very long but moved very slowly and I didn't get to the counter until 11am which seemed a ridiculous wait for 10:30am on a Monday.

To Whistler/Blackcomb Customer Service,
I write this letter to tell you what a big disappointment your resort has been.
I live in Vancouver and have my extended family of 7 out visiting for the Christmas holidays. They are all ski instructors in Quebec and skiing is part of their life. The only thing they wanted to do while visiting BC is ski at Whistler/Blackcomb for a day. They brought all their equipment out from Quebec and on December 27/2018 we all headed up to Whistler in 3 vehicles.
We arrived at the parking lot at 9:00am, bought all our parking tickets which all together was $30.00 then headed to Whistler village. Because my family are all instructors (ACA & CSIA) we had to buy our tickets at the ticket booth at the base of the ski hills. The line was extremely long when we arrived but we thought it would move fairly quickly. We waited in line until 11:15am and had only moved ¾ of the way.
With the cost of skiing at your mountain ($178/adult, $151/youth) we soon realized that we would only be skiing 2 or possibly 3 hours by the time we actually got to the booth and bought our tickets. We all agreed that it was not going to be worth it at that point. I will say that you had some very unhappy customers at that point.
We made a group decision that we would give up our place in line and go for lunch at Longhorn but it sure made everyone upset that we would not be skiing the day like we had all been planning for the last 6 months. Once we had all finished lunch and were going to head back to our vehicles to head home we looked at the line and we saw people that we had been in line with who were still waiting to get a day pass.
I am a local person and have been skiing Whistler and Blackcomb for the last 15 years and I have never had an issue like I had yesterday. Being that there is new ownership I feel that it is very important that you are aware when you don’t meet your customer’s expectations and you sure made 8 peoples' experience of Whistler and Blackcomb a bad one.

We have visited Whistler every year for the past 7 and sadly this will be our last. The village is beautiful but since Vail took over its vale to Whistler.
The grooming is pathetic, there is not enough man-made snow on the lower runs, even on Blackcomb coming down to the gondola it’s like skiing in Australia over patches of grass. And don’t try and blame the weather because it’s been snowing since we arrived, so you could have made an effort to improve with man-made snow but you haven’t bothered.
With only a third of runs open, it’s a rip off. Way too expensive.
Vale to Whistler. We will be giving our $30k we spend each year on our ski holiday to Japan next year.

This season has had a lack of snow but, actually, recently the conditions have been really cold meaning it has stayed better than it does sometimes (due to the low altitude temperate climate can sometimes get melt periods). At the moment it is blue skies and hard packed groomed runs (a bit icy in places admittedly). The comment regarding snow management at the time it was written was justified. Don't know what happened over christmas period but am guessing a few key personnel were on holiday as grooming and snow making were not up to scratch for a good couple of weeks. Since then they seem to have tried to make the best of it making a decent park just down from Emerald, on Whistler mountain, to keep people entertained and good grooming.

Now that the comment of snow friendly forecasts has been brought up, coincidentally an underestimation of the snowfall occurs the following 2 weeks. If this is proof they weren't full of crap to you this whole winter you are naive. P.s on weather stats we were 1/3 of Novembers snowfall, 1/2 of typical December snowfall and back to a third for typically snowy month (as per WB weather stats) in January. February is the typical dry month and it is snowing. Corruption is as obvious as it is in the entire world when money is concerned. But the bottom line, now there is snow. The mountains are not ice and being called hard pack anymore. They are actually soft pack powder as the website says. No one was ever just trying to make WB sound bad, we were simply saying that whether they draw straws or roll dice an honest description of the piste should be reported and if you constantly are going to exaggerate the snow amounts prior to the snowfall it'd be nice to see the odd underestimation. I have a feeling someone was listening ;)

Whistler local here. I'm enjoying all these bad reviews because every year we have a dry January. Mid February the snow starts. These reviews must have kept the tourists away because the last three days have been dead here in Whistler and 30cm of snow each night, even if the WB website accumulation said there was less. So, in conclusion, WB is the worst resort ever! Never snows! Wouldn't suggest coming here and clogging up the lift lines!
